 What is Caring Connections?

This is a ministry opportunity for members to help other members at Our Redeemer. Caring Connections is about living into our greatest commands from God, to love God and others. God has called each of us to reach out to those in need by building community and serving one another. God’s calling for our lives is centered on being faithful servants for Christ, being God’s hands and feet in the world.

Caring Connections Goal…Senior woman in a wheelchair

The goal of this ministry is simple. It is to be a bridge connecting people with needs to those who have specific gifts, talents and a passion to help.

How does this work?

This ministry is for anyone. There is a variety of ways to help and a variety of needs that can be answered. The Care Connection ministry has provided a binder that will remain in the church office and made available for people to submit their forms. There are two types of forms:

  • Care Recipient Form – this form is for those submitting a need, to download click here.
  • Care Volunteer Form– this form is for those seeking to volunteer and fulfill a need for someone. To download click here.

For this ministry to work there is a great deal of commitment needed from both the Care recipients and volunteers. Once a form is submitted, they will remain in the binder. It is then the responsibility of volunteer to search through the binder, locate a need that fits with their gifts/skills or passion.

After selecting the Care Recipient, make a copy of their form, the original is to remain in the binder. Then the Care Volunteer will contact the Care Recipient to setup a date and time.

See below for more information if you have a need or are interested in becoming a Volunteer. You can download the forms online and return to Our Redeemer Staff, paper forms are available in the Care Connections Binder.

Care Recipient

We want to hear about your need in order to better help you. You can download a form today or visit the church office to receive a paper form which is located in the Care Connections Binder.

Download the Care Recipient Form Here.

Your form will remain in the binder. Your need is dependent upon someone else contacting you. When a Care Volunteer selects your form, they will set up a date and time that works best for both parties. You are invited though to glance through the Care Volunteer forms in the binder. If there is someone who could meet your need and they have yet to contact you. We then encourage you to contact them.

Care Volunteer

Anyone can be a volunteer. The needs submitted may vary from indoor, outdoor, one time only, regular or scheduled basis. There could be needs that require a group or simply one individual. All the needs can be answered by those young and old, with various passions, gifts, talents or abilities. God’s work is for everyone to participate in. Become a member helping another member in the Our Redeemer family.

When we see someone in need, we should think, ” How can I help?” and follow through. This is what is expected for Caring Connections to work effectively. It is solely dependent upon the initiative of the Care Volunteer. You can make a difference when you become a Care Volunteer.

When you, the Care Volunteer selects a form, make a copy. The original will remain in the Care Connections Binder. You will then follow through by setting up a date and time that works best for both parties. The Care Recipients have been encouraged to glance through the Care Volunteer forms in the binder if their need has not been answered.
